Last Friday, October 14, 2011, the University of the Pacific's annual Engineering Cardboard Regatta broke the record for having the least numbers of boats sunk. It was an amazing feat that no other year's boat race had ever accomplished! Although this event appears to be a stressful situation for each of the participating boat teams as they are graded for this project, it is actually an entertaining affair for all involved. As sad as it to say this, it was super entertaining to watch boats sinking and students struggling to cross to the other side of the pool. This common event that might appear normal and just a family entertainment on the surface is, in actuality, an excellent example of how Confucian learning is in action.
